2005 Calendar: Behind The Scenes… Kat's Diary

My radio alarm-clock blasted on abruptly… blaring out a Pink track 'God is a DJ' or something to that description… AARGHH…! I shot bolt upright in bed with fright… SHUT UP… I screeched…

Must have left the volume button UP, I rolled over and whacked the 'Snooze' button – 7:15am on the clock. Jeeh-zo, it's a Saturday!

I had to be up and ready looking my best for 9am…!! Aye Rite…!! Snuggled back under the quilt thinking "If I'm late Carole Anne will kill me."

I couldn't believe we were back at the Daily Record studio doing our new Charity Swimwear Calendar for 2005, it only feels like yesterday we did our 2004 Calendar. It was a dull, cold and rainy morning and the thought of stripping down to our bare minimal did not appeal to any of us. Where's the justice anyway, all the American cheerleaders get to go to the Caribbean for their photo shoots…! If any of our sponsors are reading this… come on… get that sorted out! I KNOW Kate McGuire would love a trip to Miami…!

Well, at least it was warm in the studio this time. We had an extra delivery of gas cylinders just in case! Come to think of it, the two gas men were hanging around a very long time, just to drop off some gas…! The set looked fantastic, very 'Hello' magazine style we thought, juicy bright red background decorated with a funky purple velvet chaise-lounge from Enigma on Buchanan Street.

As usual there was chaos in the changing room with all ten of us ploughing through bags of bikinis and stiletto shoes trying to decide which ones were best to wear. Carole Anne was organising everyone, making sure their colour scheme matched the background etc…

Claire Nimmo was hogging the heater in the corner, Laura was trying to steal chicken fillets, Pauline had two odd shoes on and couldn't quite decide which ones she liked best, Karen – our 'Kylie', looked stunning but I couldn't help but think ''Daisy the Cow'' 'cos of her massive eyelashes… Blink Blink…!! Nicole kept watching herself in the mirror and thought she looked pale – that must have been because she was standing next to Clayr D. Frank Bruno looks pale next to Clayr D!

Rapunzel – Katrina Foran – was in a strange yoga position trying to straighten her hair. Meanwhile I was sitting with Clayr's pink furry slippers on (my feet were blue with cold) my head in the picnic hamper bag eating everything without meat… I was actually desperately trying to put on a stone in weight before my turn under the lens, well I didn't want to look like the leg of the chaise-lounge did I…? Didn't work anyway my speedy metabolism meant I only had to get off my chair and walk over to the 'make up' chair and the food was burnt off…! damn…!

Carrie did all our make-up and made everyone look great, well she is of course training to be a professional make up artist…! Both Carrie and Clayr were up at 5am and at Carole Anne's flat for 6am…!! I feel bad now that I was still snoozing at 7:15am… still, some folk obviously need more work that others eh…! ha ha… ''Magician'' would have been a more fitting description for Carrie actually, especially on me! Eventually rolled out of ma bed at 8:30am, so the auld eyeballs were swinging from the sockets. Everyone's make-up was fantastic, again a big thank you to Carrie for all her hard work. Remember us mere mortals when you're doing all the celeb's make up doll…!

The photoshoot was going really well in the main studio. The rest of us gathered round the rocket-launcher heater with our dressing gowns and slippers on entertaining ourselves with impressions of the 'whistle man' from 'Chewin The Fat' and Ricky Jarvais dance routine from 'The Office' – as you do…! Was funny to us anyway. Aye OK OK… 'I' …entertained… 'MY' …self and… 'I' …thought it was funny…!

I still had Clayr's slippers on at that point and suddenly it was my turn for the camera lens…! …Whow… pal… calm it, calm it… back a bit wi' that zoom lens there fandan, ma complection's not that great close up… before I knew it the camera was snapping and then the photographer asked me to put a pair of high heels on…! Oh… Still had the slippers on…! hee hee…! actually liked them that much we just used that pic for the calendar.

So, overall a great day, quite tiring but well worth the effort and for a great cause. All proceeds form our calendar go to Clyde 1's 'Cash for Kids Appeal' and The Daily Record's 'CHAS Appeal'.

As well as the Daily Record printing a fantastic centre-page spread on our calendar on Thursday 6th January, (which we were really over-the-moon with – thank you to Sasha) Clyde 1 DJs George Bowie, Suzie McGuire and Adrian Coll gave it loads of plugs too…! Thank you so much to you for all your support… Well actually, I think George and Suzie really just slagged me off…! but for that………I'll get them back…!!

Hope everyone likes the calendar, even if you don't, purse out for two great causes – at £6 per calendar it's a steal…!

Until next time,

Love Kat x
