Long time no see!
Gosh, I can't believe I haven't written anything since Christmas time, I've got so much to say!
Well this is the only contact I have with you at the moment, with the season being at an end (has been for a few weeks) and I have to say, I am missing it SO much, don't know what to do with myself on a Sunday (OK, so I'm catching up on backdated hangovers, whilst stuffing my face watching Eastenders Omnibus) but it's just not the same!
Maybe I should wear my uniform at the same time, try creating a bit of atmosphere, maybe attempt a routine to the Eastenders theme tune…
So, long time no chat eh? Well it's been all go for myself and the girls since we last spoke between one thing and another. Been doing really well with our Phoenix Honda promotions, where we also got the chance to speak to some fans at the Braehead Shopping Centre, you know who you are, we where working really hard, and you lot were at the ice-skating! In fact it was great the day I done the promo with Carole Anne and Laura, there was some tourists from Canada (tho we didn't realise they were tourists) that wanted some photos taken with us, and we were asking "Why on earth would you take a camera out whilst shopping", then when they asked for some photos we were like "WHAT A GREAT IDEA ALWAYS HAVING A CAMERA ON YOU!!!"
The games have been fantastic. Ooh, and I'd like to thank everyone that took part in our Easter Egg Appeal, I thoroughly enjoyed munching my way through the hundreds of eggs that you donated haha, only kidding, but seriously it was a great response and thanks to all that took part.
So we've been doing well on the publicity front too, between the regular promos at Braehead, we also had a couple of days at Ayr races which was grand, although the weather was so temperamental we didn't know whether to be in bikinis or fur coats! On the Saturday it was lashing down and we're outside giving it "shake shake shake shake, shake your shimmy baby" hair splattered to our face, sliding about in the mud, but it's all good fun. Then on the same Saturday night a few of us went through to Edinburgh Commonwealth pool, where it was the complete opposite, and we were all melting! Poor Iain, his head was nipping as it was a case of "BRRRRRRRR, I'M FREEZING" to "AW MY GAWD, I'M ROASTING. HELP!"
Ooh, and we had our spread in the Daily Record too, smashing big coloured double page, even tho they did confuse our two Claires… AND we had our appearance on Offside with Tam Cowan, did you see it, yeah smashing that was! Tam was brand new, in fact we're a set of poms down as he wanted to keep a set, wonder if he's thinking of trying out haha!
What a laff tho, we didn't get much of a practice, just a case of "on you go girls", so I was gong "no way I hope you don't see me, I made a mess oh no, please don't show me" and I was at home (coz it was on that night) and I was quite nervous about it, so I watched it in the privacy of my room whilst the rest of the family where elsewhere watching it, and my belly's all going, then Tam goes "Here we have the fabulous Rockettes…", and I'm clapping my hands giving it "woohoo go girls", and there it was… my left eyebrow…
Great views of all the other girls, dancing away, looking fabulous, then a quick zoom past my eyebrow!
I've been wearing a plaster over it since as it's been non stop autographs since its big debut, I've been ask to do some eyebrow double work but I've had to knock it back ;-)
And there was the Globetrotters as well, gosh that seems like so long ago, but what a night, superb, I didn't quite know what to expect from that night, but it was really good fun, and it was nice that they involved the audience in as much as possible, tho I don't know if the ones that got soaked in all the front rows would agree. I was all up for taking part too, thinking it'll be a laff having a carry on with Globie and one of the other girls… until I heard I was playing at hide'n'seek with him… For those of you that weren't there, I had to put sweat bands over my head to cover my eyes, Globie spun me round, then I had to try and find him whilst blind folded and dizzy!
The things you get to do when you're a Rockette, it's fab!!!
I won't say too much about the last game… but if I'm ever in Chester… it was quite an emotional day, for the Rocks and for us… it might be the last time we all ever dance together again… I say everyone votes to keep the ten that are already here, what d'you reckon? ;-)
Ciao for now, and I'll speak to you soon.
