This very special event was delivered in conjunction with the Scottish News of the World, hosted by a well-known Scottish celebrity, with a very special guest of honour presenting the Awards.
Bighearted Scotland is a unique collaboration between five charities that support people with mental health problems, children and adults with a variety of disabilities, including epilepsy, visual and sensory impairment and it also promotes animal welfare and alcohol awareness. These organisations raise much needed money to help them deliver valuable services throughout Scotland.
The Awards evening has grown substantially and recognition of the Awards is growing year on year. Winners are ordinary people with very special qualities, who have reached well above their own potential to help others, as well as business people, sports personalities and showbiz stars who have done great work for charity in Scotland.
Once again the evening was filmed by STV, and broadcast at peak viewing time just after the event. This black tie evening is one of the most prestigious events to be held in Scotland and will be attended by Scottish celebrities from the worlds of showbiz, sport and media, making this a real star-studded bash! Guests have the chance to mix and mingle with a host of celebrities during the champagne reception, followed by a formal dinner, then the Awards ceremony, and dancing until the wee small hours. Fantastic prizes are on offer to win, and the event hopes to raise much needed money at the charity auction.
