DROP YOUR SPARE CHANGE DOWN THE BACK OF THE WORLD’S LONGEST SOFA
Take a break from shopping on Bo Concept's 51m sofa and raise money for Maggie's.
The world’s longest sofa, custom made by ultra stylish design store Bo Concept, will be on display in George Square on Saturday 17th May, giving tired shoppers the ideal place to take a breather – while raising money for charity.
Recognised by Guinness as the longest in the world, the incredible Indivi2 sofa in sumptuous red rossi leather is 51.4 metres long – the equivalent of half the length of a football pitch, weighs in at 1.25 tonnes, stands on 54 legs and can seat 104 people. Bo Concept and local celebrities Karen Dunbar, Sanjeev Kohli and the Scottish Rockettes are inviting the people of Glasgow to drop their change down the back of the sofa, in order to raise money for cancer charity Maggie's. Bo Concept will be celebrating the event by giving away a limited number of stylish cushions on the day – so head down early.
Throughout the day, Glasgow residents and tourists can refuel with complimentary water from Bo Concept, before heading off for more sightseeing or shopping. All money raised will be donated to Maggie's, which provides invaluable support for people dealing with cancer in their lives.
Maggie's Glasgow community fundraiser, Kirsty Hodge, said: "This is a really good fun way for people to help Maggie's. Lounging on BoConcept's striking sofa in the middle of the iconic George Square is sure to appeal to shoppers and tourists alike on Saturday and we would urge people to come down and take a break for Maggie's."
