Livingston makes a song and dance of it to raise money for Marie Curie
Almondvale Shopping Centre is tuning-up for a rocking weekend of song and dance on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th June to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The stars of the show will appear at two areas inside the mall and at a specially erected dance marquee kitted out with lights and a chequered dance floor outside near the Crèche between 11-4pm. These include an Elvis impersonator to get the crowds all shook up and a dance competition with participants from 3-18 years old from West Lothian dance school, Danz Craze.
In addition, fans of cheerleading group the Scottish Rockettes can marvel at dance displays and pompoms galore whilst salsa enthusiasts will be able to join in the fun with a group of dancers from Cuba Norte in Edinburgh.
Adrian Coll from Clyde 1 will join two local DJs from Coasters in Whitburn on Saturday, each giving away £200 worth of vouchers throughout the day to lucky shoppers who participate in the dance events. Visitors will also be invited to enter a £100 free prize draw.
Donations for the charity will be collected over the two days at the event where Marie Curie nurses will be on hand to talk to shoppers about the work of the charity.
Almondvale Shopping Centre marketing manager, Jennifer Bruce, said: "We're very pleased to be holding a fun-packed singing and dancing event which is the first of its kind at Almondvale Shopping Centre with some amazing performers. We expect a great deal of interest from locals in Livingston and beyond and look forward to welcoming the crowds."
